I have 2 ideas for my final project. Create a 2-5 track Dubstep/Grime/Bassline, or build a microphone preamp.
I currently don’t have a very complete idea of how things will go for my project. I will definitely be focusing heavily on the sound design aspect of making this music, creating my own drums, basses, and various other synths. Doing this I will be testing lots of different ways of making sounds and using various different synthesizers broadening my knowledge of sound design. Additionally, I want to learn a bit more about using effects in a more creative way to change sounds. As far as the releasing side of the music is concerned, I am not very bothered about marketing my music and trying to release it and make it do big numbers. The music will go on SoundCloud but I want this project to be about improving my bass music production abilities.
The other option I have is building a microphone preamp. While this project could be interesting and would be a good starting point for what I am going on to do at uni, I would much rather prefer to do the other project now that I have thought about it.
