Mixing – Smoke Break

For some extra things to do I mixed one of the bands’ songs

This is the whole project file with all of the audio tracks in, as you can see there is a sum track for the drums which groups all the tracks through one output.
This is the mix window, here you can see all the fader volumes, panning, and effects that are on the tracks.
I did some automation on the vocal track where it clipped towards the end, reducing the volume in a short point.
This is a distortion I added to the vocals, this created that almost radio like effect which I think sounded really good with the style of the song.
This is a reverb I added to one of the vocal tracks to create space.
These are 3 different kinds of EQ that I experimented with, console eq, tube eq, and the usual parametric eq.
This is a compressor that I used on the vocal with light settings, I applied this compressor 4 times to reduce the difference in volume on the main vocal train.
This is an exciter, which creates more harmonics on the high end creating a crisper and more present sound.
This is an echo that I added to the ‘wet’ vocal track along with the reverb to create space in the vocal.
