For my portfolio presentation, I would like to present it as a collage of images that show my progress over my two years at college. An example of how I will show this is inspired by a Christmas newspaper article, where the early work of English artist Louis Wain. This collage of illustrations is called “A Kitten’s Christmas Party” and was published in 1886 in the “Illustrated London News”. His work really helped to change the overall public opinion of cats at the time, the illustrations helped people see cats as domestic pets rather than just mouse-catchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I find his work very interesting because of how much it changed as he grew older and his mental health declined. It is believed that Wain suffered from schizophrenia as well as anxiety and depression, and I find it very intriguing to see the effect these conditions had on Wain’s mind through his later work,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With my own portfolio presentation, I’d like it to be collaged similarly to “A Kitten’s Christmas Party” but also in a cohesive order that shows my own progress throughout my two years at college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through making my portfolio design, I decided that instead of demonstrating my progress I should just use some of my best work and images. I decided to mainly use my second year work but I also included two looks from my first year because the were very good and- along with my second year images- they show potential employers what I am capable of in terms of the skills I am developing through my time at college.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
