Context:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an addition to my Nightmare On Elm Street look, I was also given the chance to create a look for Binx The Cat from the movie Hocus Pocus as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To do this, I already knew that I would have to research into how to efficiently create a look for a black cat because just painting my models face black would be seen as very problematic and just not good as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I didn\u2019t know that I would be creating this look when we first received our assignment, I was in the middle of preparing for my other weekly assessments so I was unable to create a spider diagram as part of my research. Instead I was advised to research into the musical \u201cCats\u201d to best understand how I could create a good face paint look for Binx. For my main reference I looked at the character \u201cMunkustrap\u201d:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through my research into the makeup for Munkustrap and through advice from my tutors, I learnt that I can use a white base and add black details to make my look work. As another form of research I practiced how I would use white and black face paint to create my look for Binx.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this research I learnt that I should change the face chart I created because Binx does not have a pink nose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also made sure that my model didn\u2019t require costume or any hair products- I learnt that I would not need to handle these as my model was doing his own hair and the Performing Arts department was providing his costume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I once again used ProCreate and Canva to create my face chart and mood board:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
