After my assessment, my tutor was impressed with my blending of the sculpt gel- especially considering that my assessment was my second time using it. She said that my lip liner was good and my base was very good as well. I was also given points for improvement too; I needed to pack on more black eyeshadow because it looked a bit patchy because I didn’t use anything to prime the eyes beforehand. I also needed to add more dark shades to the inside of the cut, I used quite a bit of yellow in the cut to make it look infected but I learnt that this can also look like the fat layer underneath the skin which you wouldn’t really see in a cheek wound. My tutor also commented that I didn’t connect the cut to the mouth, which was intentional as I may have struggled to make that look realistic enough for the type of look I created (Fashion Magazine).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PERSONAL REFLECTION:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The live reference that I had in my assessment (a book with pictures of wounds) didn’t have a cheek wound so I had to use my memory and other pictures from the book to try to make the wound look as realistic as possible. To make sure my look got better I added lots more black eyeshadow and used concealer to clean up the fallout. I also made sure to add more dark tones to the cut. Overall I was very happy with how my work looked in the end, I think that my look would fit in with being in a fashion magazine’s Halloween edition. If I were to do this assessment again I would make the cut bigger and more gory, I would also add more special effects like fake teeth if the cut was connected to the mouth and fake gunk to make the wound really look infected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
