For my mood board, two of the pictures are some that I took of a Day Of The Dead themed Barbie that I saw while at a toy shop while I was on holiday in New York City, the top picture of two people in traditional clothing and makeup is from a BBC column explaining the celebration and the bottom two pictures are from Google Images.

For my first design for my cultural body paint, I tried to recreate accurate skeleton makeup on top of the multi coloured airbrushing, it was okay but I thought that trying to recreate a more traditional Day Of The Dead makeup would be better.

This was my second design, I liked it a lot better because it fits into the Day Of The Dead brief more.

For hair, I took inspiration from simple but elegant, long way styles that I found on Google Images. I also included some traditional Day Of The Dead flowers (chrysanthemums, baby’s breath, marigolds, cockscombs, gladiolus and hoary stock) in my mood board as a way of presenting the flowers I will include on my headdress.

I decided to draw up a full character design and annotate it to help me visualise what my look will look like. I was not sure at the time what I will use for a costume so I left a gap for my model as if they were wearing shorts and a tube top.
