Q1. How did you analyze the script in order to effectively convey the intended message to the audience?
Firstly you have to understand the background behind the script, by doing this you can. By understanding the themes and narratives. Next you have to do the most important thing out of the whole thing by analyzing the background of your character for example their backstory and motivation. After this you have to break down each scene you are doing, this helps in reversal or when practicing at home because this develops on more what your character is. This also helps the purpose of the scene and the story behind the script. However paying attention to dialogue interpretation to what the character says in your script so you know how to portray that role. Another one is COLLABORATION this can work by discussing ideas or your perspective of a actor and tell the director how it would help to work around that. Finally this is a very IMPORTANT one because, this method is the one actors mainly use the most is RESEARCH. By doing this method it helps learn about the setting of the scene, the time it was set and their cultural aspects.
Q2. Can you outline the various techniques you used to express the emotions of your character to the audience?
The techniques I used to portray my character properly is I read through my script over on our first rehearsal my group read through the script and we already knew what it was about so we looked at our character over so we can have a little insight on what we can portray our character to be. Next I have used a lot of body language in our rehearsal, this helps because in our play we use a lot of levels to show our different type of age. However I am a ten year old child, so I have to show the audience on how I am a Ten year old, by playing with my toys because that is a very big part of the play. But when I am not a child and just speaking to the audience when I am “dead” my facial expressions have to be very real to show that I am “dead”.
Q3. How did you relate to the other performers on stage in order to create a cohesive and engaging overall performance?
I constantly listened and respond to the other members in my group to put more detail in my audience by, having my other group members help me by knowing on what to do. Because we all do similar things at different times, because we have to act different ways within each other is well by saying for example I have to say “stomach twisting” then amber has to say “Intuition”. So listening to each other is very clear because that is how we can figure out for which facial expression we have to do next.
Q4. In what ways did you differentiate your character from others in the show to ensure that each role was distinct and memorable?
I focused on developing a unique physicality and vocal style for my character, helping to distinguish them from the other roles in the show. I used a method of when I say my line “Let me go!” I huddle up into a little ball and scream my line so it makes me look really affective that I am being kidnapped.
Q5. How did you demonstrate your understanding of the directors visions through your performance?
I closely listened to the director to understand the the vision of what the director wants for this show by having ideas and helping my other peers and making it be better for everyone else is well incase some people are confused on what they are doing on the day of the performance so they do not mess up.
Q6. Can you discuss how you adapted your performance based on feedback from rehearsal and critiques?
I adapted this by when I had my reflections and looked back on it I knew exactly what to do for that day. To improve my acting and dancing skills better for the day of the show. I also made adjustments to the way I perform in order to show different levels on how to show we are different ages, by when it gets more dark in the script we are all on different type of heights when I said “Let me go” I have to go in a little ball on the floor and the other person in the group got to be on her knees and then the last one was standing.
Q7. How did you justify the creative choices you made in your performance to the intended message to the audience ?
I carefully considered each creative choice I made in relation to the overall message of the show, ensuring that my performance was in service of the directors vision. By doing this I had done the facial expressions in the musical theatre dance by being really enthusiastic and listening to my teachers feedback from the technique lessons and our normal dance lesson on what to do better. Finally for my acting I did loads of read through for my script to show that I need to be a ten year old child and how to show that role.
Q8. How did you categorize the various elements of your performance in order to effectively communicate with the audience ?
I categorized the emotions, motivations, and relationships of my character in order to create a cohesive and compelling performance that resonated with the audience. By showing this I had to show my emotions in musical theatre with smiling and doing research into the musical so I can show and know what the type of facial expressions I need to show to the audience. The motivations in my acting I need to do is show the teenage and adults in the audience by showing true emotions within the script and make people feel how serious this situation is and how it keeps going on till this day. Relationships within my character has to be very personal and show it is well because of how deep the subject is in the script of the play and how, my character will affect certian people in the audience.
Q9. Can you explain the process of reorganizing your performance to enhance the overall impact on the audience?
I reorganized certain moments within my performance to create a more dynamic and engaging narrative arc that heightened the emotional impact on the audience, in my acting scene I made it more engaging by putting loads of emotion when it came to my line where I had to scream to show people in the audience they have to listen more into it and not laugh about it because they need to be careful on what is happening in the world.
Q10. How did you evaluate your own performance in comparison to the other performers in the show to identify areas for growth and development?
I critically assessed my performance in relation to the other performers, identifying strengths and weaknesses in order to continuously strive for improvement and growth. I watched my performance over and over to show how I can improve my acting skills for the next project and it can improve a lot of confidence in my grades and how it can also effect the audience with what the message was in the script and this could also improve on our performance for the next project and keep looking back on it before our performance for project two starts.
