Week one : Career week
Monday 4th November :
Monday morning at 9:30am we had our first career week of the year; I had some independent study time as we will not have our normal timetable for the rest of the week. Then at 11:30pm we had a talk with Erica, she is a dancer graduate from Northern school of contemporary dance. She first talked about how to do CVS’s and headshots. After this she then talked about how she got into her career and how she became a professional, this lasted till 12:30pm. After lunch level 2 and 3 had their dance lesson with Erica first and then we had our workshop at 3pm where we did a warmup and a bit of technique lesson. I then had a tutorial progress review at 4:15pm about how the course work is going. We then went home at 4:30pm.

Wednesday 6th November :
Wednesday morning at 9:30am was our first exam paper, and we had two hours on our maths paper this then lasted till 12:30pm. Then we got to go home because the lesson in the afternoon was invitation only. So people who was not invited most of us got to go home at 12:30pm.
Friday 8th November :
Friday morning at 9:30am we then had our final maths exam for 2 hours and we got let out at 12:30pm. Then had lunch from 12:30pm till 1:30pm. After lunch we had a talk in the gallery from 1:30pm till 2:30pm about artists in residence, this was about how a student from Bradford college got to have so many opportunities over the years, since graduating.
Week 2 :
Monday the 11th November :
Monday morning, we had acting technique lessons with Steph at 9:30am, where we learnt on Surrealism acting because of a part of our project if people want to do the acting part, they must know that side of the acting as we normally just do musical theatre and physical theatre. So, we had a lot of information to prepare ourselves for the afternoon when doing the project practice. We had a break at 11am and came back at 11:15am. Then we did a practice of naturalism theatre where I was in a group with Jack and Amber, and we were a family having an argument about a broken plate and why I was late. Naturalism theatre can be where the character is produced from the enheartened of there family and it can be related to something in real life. Then we had lunch from 12:30pm till 1:30pm. We came back and had a script on Surrealism, and we got separated into group of five and, we had 20 minutes to put the script together and show it to everyone in the room. Surrealism acting is, another form of describing horror acting and there can be different ways to petrary surrealism acting for example, screen acting . We then got to go home at 4:20pm.

Wednesday 13th November :
Wednesday morning at 9:30am we had Jess for a theory lesson on how to write an Essay and how to write it with Harvard referencing as none of us has done that before. Harvard referencing is commonly used in university work for example essay to improve on there writing for that project they are doing to get more marks for that type of degree they want . This was helpful because I already started on my Essay so then I can have, an insight on how to do quotes and website referencing. From 11am till 12:30pm we had independent study time. Then we got a lunch break from 12:30pm till 1:30pm. After lunch we had Ambition hub, we had Emma this week instead of Steph. Because Steph was not in. However, we had a lesson on how to write a CV. We did this from 1:30pm till 3pm.

Thursday 14th November :
Thursday morning at 9:30am we had Steph for our normal Tutorial lesson where we learnt about extremism. Extremism is referring to the different type of belief with supportive ideas like ideas, behaviors or attitude moreover to this extremism can lead to conflict and social division . We had this till 11am. Then we had lesson with Eric for singing lesson. Because it was a new term we had to learn new songs. Our song’s this year is “&Juliet” the musical. This was easy because we got a lot of songs in the musical that we all know, and we just put this into harmonies all the girls are Soprano’s and all the guys where base or Teno. We got through most of the songs, and he sent us the files with the song and now we must listen to it to see if we want a solo next week or not. At 12:30pm we had lunch till 1:30pm. Then in the afternoon we had dance with Jess at 1:30pm, where we learnt a hip hop dance from descendant’s dance “Red” as a part of our Hip hop dance. But in the first lesson we had to do our project work from 1:30pm till 3pm. Some of us are doing Contemporary dance and others are doing musical theatre as the acting side of our project. Then we had a break from 3pm till 3:15pm. Then we came back and learnt the descendants dance “Red” for our hip hop lesson until 4:30pm.

Week Three :
Monday 18th of November :
Monday at 9:30am we had Steph all day for our project work, however we had a talk from the Library manger about how to use it and we also had a walk to the library about what to do when we are in the library and got shown our study rooms we can use. The talk we had was helpful because most of us not used the library as much so when we go, we would not know what to do. This lasted from 11am till 12pm. Then after that we continued with our project work until lunch and then we had lunch from 12:30pm till 1:30pm. After lunch we continued with our project work until 4:30pm.
Wednesday 20th of November :
Wednesday morning, we had Emma for our course work lesson, I have already finished my Essay, so I continued with my reflections and looked over my essay a lot. Then it came to independent study at 11am, this week Emma gave me permission to use B41 to practice my dance for the showcase until lunch, so I have more room practicing. Then we had lunch from 12:30pm till 1:30pm. After lunch we had Ambition Hub, in this lesson we had a look on what we were doing on our masterclass that we are leading next week. In this master class we are collaborating with Childcare, so in this case we are do a thing called “Theatre in education” in the master class we will be doing puppet work with our group. All the level 2,3 and extended got mixed into three groups of ten. We all got a piece of paper, moral of the story and the background story of our character. Our puppet was called “Tiffany”, and our background of our puppet was that she was a dancer and came out as gay and then got bullied in her dance school. The moral of our story was she got bullied by being a lesbian in a dance school, so she moves to a contemporary dance school, she had a solo at her contemporary dance school and froze on stage and got flashbacks from her old dance studio. In the end the dance teacher helped her overcame her fear and dance beautifully back on stage again and had loads of support from her friends in her contemporary dance school. We did this until 3pm.
Thursday the 21st of November :
Thursday morning, we had Steph for our Tutorial lesson at 9:30am the first thing we did was, a course rep meeting for the course reps know what to say in there meeting. Then at 10am we had a meeting with the University teacher that does Performing arts in our college, She helped us know what the university course looks like and how the years are planned out and helped us with any questions so we know what type of university’s we need to apply for. This lasted till 11am. Then we had Eric at 11am for our singing lesson, and we continued with our songs as we only got one song done so we got the second one done which is “Tell me why”. We finished at 12:30pm and then we had lunch from 12:30pm till 1:30pm. After lunch we had Emma for our dance lesson for the first two hours we had our dance lesson, where we did our hip hop lesson and learnt the rest of the dance “Red” from Descendants. Then we had a break for 15 minutes from 2:45pm till 3pm. After the break for the rest of the afternoon till 4:30pm we got to finish our project work.

Week 4 :
Monday 25th of November :
Monday at 9:30am we had Steph for our acting technique lesson for the morning. In this lesson we did musical theatre and the type of genres within musical theatre. This was helpful for people who likes musical theatre and want to do it for their project but have to learn the backstory of musical theatre so it can help them know what they want to do. After our power point we did a physical warm up to help us loosen up for the day we did this for 15 minutes then had a vocal warm up we also did this for 15 minutes. Then we had a break from 11am till 11: 15am. Then once we came back from break, we learnt a song from “Oliver” The musical, me and my friend had to learn the song for the rest of the lesson but also act it out at the same time. Me and Amber are from London so we had the accent for the song so we had to teach them the accent so it can fit in with the song. This was enjoyable experience for us as we both want to be teachers one day in this industry. Then we went for lunch at 12:30pm till 1:30pm. After lunch we did project work as we only have two weeks left on this project then we must perform. So, some of us did there acting project but I did my dance one and have to make my dance I got through the dance part of my quote and got halfway done with that and after made a bit of my actual dance. Then Steph suggested that I can use people as my ensemble, they are going to have signs with different social media apps and then creep me out and try to suck me in and make me mentally ill and they are going to put a rope around me in the end of the dance and try to get out. I did the signs and started on the social media signs. Then I went home at 4:30pm.

Thursday 28th of November :
Thursday morning at 9:30am we had Steph for our tutorial lesson. For this lesson we learnt about the different type of mental health disabilities there is. A example of a disabilities is OCD, the definition of OCD is a long-lasting disorder where a person experiences a uncontrollable and recurring thoughts and it will engage in repetitive thoughts. This lasted till 11am. Then we had singing lessons with Eric where we got halfway through the song of “&Juliet”. However, we had a power point lesson on different type of musicals, as we are doing “&Juliet” for our song this year. Then we had lunch from 12:30pm till 1:30pm. After lunch we had independent study time for the afternoon so we can have a time to ourselves learning it. Then we all went home at 4:30pm.

Week 5 :
Monday 2nd of December :
Monday morning we had Steph at 9:30am, for our acting technique lesson. This week we learned about Naturalistic theatre. The definition of Naturalistic theatre is, often used as to refer the same thing to also mean the belief that the human character is formed, but what they formed from their family and environment. Naturalistic theatre method is mainly used with Stanislavsky method because it is a good method to relate for Naturalistic theatre. Then we looked at a script and read through in pairs, which showed a Naturalistic script called “The Crucible” which is also the level 2 and 3s are doing as there project 2. We did this till 12:30pm. Then we went for lunch at 12:30pm till 1:30pm. After lunch we had project work all afternoon, I got a 1 minute and 48 seconds done of my dance which is the most important part of the quote in the dance because it is the main subject of the whole entire dance. We did this till 4:30pm.

Wednesday 4th of December :
Wednesday morning at 9:30am we had Jess for course work where I wrote down the rest of the dance so when it comes to rehearsals I can remember it. Then we finished at 11pm. After this we had independent study time from 11pm till 12:30pm. Where I practiced my dance by myself with my friends in the studio. Then we all went to lunch at 12:30pm till 1:30pm. After lunch we had Ambition Hub with Jess and we learned a new dance for the light cinema. We did this until 3pm.
Thursday 5th December:
Thursday morning at 9:30am we had Steph , and we had our normal tutorial lesson. But we just worked on our scrapbook and had 1 to 1 tutorial lesson . This was helpful for me to read through my essay etc. Then we had Eric for singing at 11am , and we went through the whole song of “&Juliet” but first we learned about different type of musicals . This lasted till 12:30pm. After lunch at 1:30pm we had a talk in DHB about racism and how it affects people however they showed this in a play which is called “theatre in education” this lasted till 3pm. After this we had project work from 3pm till 4:30pm , in this lesson I was learning the dance for Oliver, Jack and Ashley’s performance as a back up dancer . Then we all went home at 4:30pm.
Week 6 :
Monday 9th of December :
Monday morning I had Steph at 9:30am for our project lesson. Then we had the Library manager come in to give us a talk on how to do Harvard referencing so we can do it for our essay. After this we had a break from 11am till 11:15am. After break we had the rest of lesson till lunchtime to do our project. Then we had lunch from 12:30pm till 1:30pm. We came back after lunch and did more on our project work. Then we did a run through of our show. We did this till 4:30pm.
Wednesday 11th of December :
Wednesday morning we had Emma and we was in B25 for a extra project lesson. First of we did a warm up and stretch before we had a start on our project work. Then we got to our project work for 15 minutes then after that we showed our project work in order of the show after everyone had feedback on what can be approved in our dance. Then we had independent study from 11am till 12:30pm. After this we had lunch from 12:30pm till 1:30pm. After lunch we had more independent study but we had b41 so we can all have space to practice our project then we went home at 3pm.
Thursday 12th of December :
Thursday morning at 9:30am we had Steph for our tutorial lesson, where we just did our scrapbook. Then we had singing lesson with Eric at 11am till 12:30pm where we he put us into groups and made our songs to perform next Thursday. After Erics lesson we had lunch from 12:30pm till 1:30pm. After lunch we had independent study all afternoon where I just did my scrapbook and went home at 3:30pm.
Week 7 :
Monday 16th December – Performance day :
Monday morning we all came in at 9:30am and we got to have our lighting done for the type of performance we are doing so it will make sense for the people in the audience. Then we did the practice run through of my dance so that people know when to come in as most of the dance is not words so they need to know when to come on. After this we had a break from 11am till 11:15am. We then came back and did a run through of the show after break to get good transitions in the show so we know how it will work for the dress run and the performance. Next we had lunch from 12:30pm till 1:30pm. After lunch we came back and got ready for the performance and set up everything backstage. Then we had the dress rehearsal from 2pm till 3pm. After the dress run we got a break from 3-4pm. Our actual show was at 5pm where we presented it in front of our family and friends we did this till 6pm.

Wednesday 18th December :
Wednesday morning we had Steph for our course work lesson at 9:30am and just carried on with our work as we only have until January to do it. Then at 11am we had independent study where me and my friends went into the cafe and did some more coursework so we can have a break and not trying to stress about coursework in the holiday. After this we had lunch from 12:30pm till 1:30pm. After lunch we had our annual performing arts Christmas party where we did Karaoke and Just dance. Then we all went home at 3pm.
Thursday 19th December :
Thursday morning we had Steph for our tutorial lesson at 9:30am where we did a power point on, online bullying. We then had Eric for singing at 11am, in this lesson we did a showcase on how we improved our singing to each other on how our lessons have been doing and done our strongest song. Then we had lunch from 12:30pm till 1:30pm. After lunch we went to watch the level 2 and 3 performance “The Crucible” which this was a great way to spend my afternoon because I really enjoyed watching this as it explaned the plot of the story really well.
