What would I do differently?
Give myself more time to edit the final product, as I wanted to edit clips of the various movies, articles, etc, onto the screen while I spoke, giving an example of what I meant.
I would also plan out a script, and practice what I would say a few times beforehand, so that there are less pauses and pronunciation mistakes to edit out.
Talk louder, get someone to record or take breaks to check how the audio sounds throughout the recording, as when I went back to edit, it was difficult to understand and I had to rerecord last minute, which also meant I left out topics and didn’t cover as much I had in the original recording.
Give myself more time to create the channel intro as there are a handful of editing mistakes and it doesn’t look perfect, e.g. the fading of everything at the end is out of time and some layers remain on screen for a second too long, and I would spend more time on the scratch animation to add more depth/dimension/shading and make it seem a bit more realistic/3D.
What do I feel I was successful in?
I feel I was successful in the research, and how I compiled it, and my draft, as well as referring to information, references, and inspirations.
I feel I was successful in editing the channel intro, despite it not being perfect or what I had originally planned. I am proud of how I improvised the scratch animation, using tools to create my own shapes to create a claw scratch image and using the same process to add lighting and make it appear less 2D. I also went over it as thoroughly as I could in the time I had and made an effort to fix mistakes and learn from them to problem solve the issues I was having with various parts of the editing process.
I feel I was successful in using the resources I have to make the audio recording as clear as possible (finding a secluded area with as many barriers as possible, for example, behind the sofa, under a table and in a wardrobe. Surrounding myself with cushions to stop the echo, and testing the audio before hand).
I feel I was successful in making an effective channel logo and visualizing what the channel is about through the design.
