Project 1, Task 2 -Intro Animation and Logo Design Evidence/Process

Channel Intro Editing Process:

Screen recording of most of the editing process to make the channel intro. I used Alight Motion to edit and CapCut to hide the watermark and edit this video. I originally wanted to make a slightly more complex intro, consisting of blinking eyes, a knife, moon, and various sound effects, but changed my mind because I didn’t have a clear idea of what I wanted to do and would probably made it too complex, not just to edit, but it would be too much for a channel intro. I then wanted to do something where the words would slide on screen and the M’s would intercept and then it would fade/zoom into the video, with appropriate music and sound effects I changed my mind on this idea as well because, again, I didn’t have a concise idea and thought of something that fits the concept of the video/channel better. I ended up making the words fade in, followed by a claw scratch and matching sound effect, then a blood splatter before these all fade away again. To do the scratch, I originally tried using different images of claw scratch drawings I found and edited them in a background eraser app. I moved on from this idea because it was practically impossible to cut it perfectly and make it clean. Instead, I used the shape tool and made my own claw scratches, using one of the images as a reference. I then copied the shapes I had made and changed the colour to white to imitate shading/lighting and add more depth to the scratch. I had a similar process with the blood splatter, but settled on an illustration I found and edited before putting it into Alight Motion and editing the lighting further before adding the transitions and effects, such as motion ‘blur’, ‘dissolve’, and ‘wipe’. I recorded sound effects I found on YouTube for the appropriate animations and added them in time with each one.

Youtube Channel Logo Process:

To create the channel logo, I used Alight Motion to create the text in my chosen font and space the words as I liked. I then took a screenshot and made a JPEG of it and opened it in Picsart. From there, I used stickers to create the background and effects to add shadows and contast. I made sure not to over complicate the degisn and keep it relativly simple and used complementary colours on the colour wheel to make it more aesthetically plessing. The process in PicsArt is unavailable because they block screen recording.
