Brand Awareness – Brand awareness refers to the familiarity of consumers with a particular product or service. A brand awareness campaign seeks to familiarize the public with a new or revised product and differentiate it from the competition.
Instagram: As of early 2024, Instagram has two billion monthly Instagram users worldwide, of which 46.6% are female and 52.4% are male. As of January 2024, the largest age group of males on Instagram were those between 18-24 years old. They made up 16.5% of the platform’s users. The largest age group of females were also 18-24, making up 15.2% of users.
Cider
Cider is a clothing brand established in 2020 in LA, however it takes inspiration from several major cities, such as, New York, Paris, Shanghai, and Seoul. They offer a wide variety women’s and unisex clothing, shoes, bags, accessories, swimwear, home, and pet products. Their unique strategy of offering collections of clothes by ‘mood’ (such as grunge, minimalist, cool, elegant, cure, k-pop etc), bi-monthly collection drops, and collaborations, the brand quickly became popular among teenagers and young people, cementing itself in the zeitgeist of gen-z.
Cider Instagram adverts, using celebrities, ‘get the look’, trends and relevant events among young people, as well as using striking, eye catching colours and coordinated photoshoots for promo.
Advert Idea
Cider home sells products from pet outfits to stationary, however, they do not seem to advertise this range on an of they platforms. My advert will be to advertise this range. It will be designed for Instagram, for either stories or reels, as this is where their customers are most active and they receive the most interaction. I will aim to keep the aesthetics of the video in line with their brand identity and use similar styles and layouts as their marketing.
Rage Against the Machine
Rage Against the Machine is an American nu/funk metal band formed in 1991, LA. They are known for their political messages, controversial live performances and activism, as well as their unique sound and their members intricate and original playing styles and techniques.
Advert Idea
The idea for the video is to make a 30-50 second video advert for one of RATM’s albums. For this, I will keep the visuals as close to the bands theme self-imagery as possible – black and red, sketch-like writing, comic-like styles, static, etc. The video will be to ‘Bulls on Parade’, or another one of their songs, and will set the pace and timing. It will be designed for YouTube and instagram, as that’s where their main presence and audience is.
