However, displaying/communicating all prices in the worlds most well known currencies (USD/EUR/GBP), or the currency of the majority your audience, will allow a large portion of your audience to directly understand the prices mentioned. This is why a large percentage of UK YouTubers list prices (in thumbnails, video titles, captions and descriptions, etc) in USD, as well as adjusting some terminology and information to reach a wider audience without much confusion.

To prepare for my podcast, I found and researched similar podcasts, their style, and their audiences.
The first podcast I looked at was ‘Voicenotes with Jordan Theresa’. In this podcast, the host discusses topics such as events in her life, thoughts, pop culture, trends, fashion, life advice, and anything else she feels relevant. The host, Jordan Theresa, is also a YouTuber with her own channel where she makes video essays about pop culture, feminism, sociology, and more. Most of the audience comes from her main channel, as they are invested as her as a person and interested in her life – wanting more personal and relaxed content from her. We can assume most of the podcast listeners also watch her YouTube videos, or are subscribed to it.

When researching this podcast, I found that the YouTube channel was noticeably less successful than it is on Spotify, and that they had stopped posting on that platform over a year ago.
The most views they had accumulated all together, from the YouTube channel, is only 8,022 views. They had 97 subscribers and 33 videos since joining the platform on 20th September 2020.
Wheres, on Spotify, the most recent podcast episode is from the 31st December 2024 – less than four weeks ago, a the time of writing. It has a 4.7 star rating, with 503 reviews in total.

A similar occurrence appeared with this podcast. It is available to stream on both Spotify and apple music, however, it is seemingly more successful on Spotify.
On both platforms, it has the same 4.8 star rating, but on Apple Music, there are less reviews of the podcast. on Spotify, it has 417 ratings, whereas on Apple Music it only has 259. From this, we can interpret there are more listeners overall on Spotify.
