I have done some research on a genre of photography called ‘Sequence Photography’. This is a type of photography that takes multiple photos in bursts of someone or something moving or doing an action and then combining them using editing software so they are all shown in one frame.
A specific photographer I have done research on is Nicole Evelyn, who works in California. She takes portraits of people performing actions but instead of editing to show them all in one frame, she presents them all together in the order that they were taken.

I think this is a form of 4D photography because the pictures were all taken at different times one after the other, which kind of shows the progression of whatever/whoever it is in the picture moving from one position to another.

This type of technique can be applied to pretty much anything or anyone that is moving as here there are some people doing a series of very large actions, including big jumps or travelling fairly large distances, such as the person skiing down a hill.

Actions can also be done simpler and of animals just moving and traveling around their environment. However I think this may be a little bit more difficult to do as it would mean having to wait around for an animal to do something specific, rather than working with people and directing them on what to do and when, to produce good photos.

These types of pictures do not have to be taken so fast and can be taken over a longer period of time. Producing a picture like this one could take weeks rather than a few moments as the flower took a lot longer to bloom and experience changes than the objects in all the other photos.
