Kyle Thompson shoot

For this photoshoot in the studio, I wrapped someones head in a bandage-like, woven material. I used this so the texture of it could easily be seen. I then wrapped round some green ribbon and put gold and peacock feathers in it. I used a snoot for lighting on only the left side and the right side was completely dark. I made sure to take most of my images in portrait to try and fill the whole frame so there wasn’t too much empty space around the subject. For some of them a large piece of white card was used to reflect some of the light onto the other side so it wasn’t completely dark.

I started off by cropping this photo at the top and a little bit on the right side so the person was right in the middle. I decreased the contrast all the way, slightly increased the brightness and then increased the saturation only a little bit so the colours of the feathers could be seen a bit more.

I took this photo closer up than the other ones and off to the left side a bit. I increased the vibrance all the way and used curves. I like how the gold on the feather looks on these pictures. I think this shoot may have been able to be improved to fit more with a creepy scarecrow theme if I had somehow incorporated sticks or small twigs as well.
