I visited the Bradford Impressions Gallery and looked at th exhibitions of 2 different photographers. The first one was Odette England and the second one was Tarrah Krajnak.
Odette England
I found Odette England’s work interesting because of the message her photos conveyed. The images were taken in a project of hers called ‘Woman Wearing Ring Shields Face From Flash’, done from 2019-2023. The photos depict ment taking photos of women without permission and are supposed to propose the disturbing links between shooting a photograph, shooting a gun and violence against women; As both guns and cameras are aimed, loaded and shot.
Tarrah Krajnak
In a project Krajnak did in 2014 called SISMOS79, she photographs temorary still-life sculptures she constructs out of broken glass and mirrors layered with archive imagery from pornographic and political magazines dated from the year she was born, 1979.
