Research:
For this project, I want to focus on societies relationship with technology and the impact this relationship has on people in their daily lives. This can include things like the developments of social media platforms, advertising, trends and more.
One photographer that I have found an interest in is Entung Liu, an interdisciplinary artist born in Taipei, Taiwan. Her creative processes highlight the invisible issues under the new technology fantasy.

These two photos were both taken by Entung Liu. They are portraits of people sat in an outside setting whilst holding a tablet screen up to hide their faces. The screens have only one solid colour on them. In my opinion, I think these colours may have been chosen by Liu because of what the colours orange and yellow are said to represent.
Orange is said to represent energy, activity and danger whilst yellow is sometimes said to be associated with deceit and cowardice. Because this photographer focuses on the relationships between identification, technology, nature and life, these colours could have been chosen to illustrate the negativity and dangers that come with the rapidly developing technologies in society as they are things that can be manipulated and controlled very easily by the wrong people for the wrong reasons.

Plan:
I would like to attempt to take these types of photos in my own way to show how technology is slowly becoming a part of everything.
For my first shoot as part of this project I am going to try to make my photos look like they were taken from the perspective of someone sat at a table looking down at what is in front of them.

This is the photo which gave me my idea for what I wanted to do for my first shoot. I am planning on putting multiple devices with a screen on a plate (such as tablets, phones and smart watches), then placing utensils around the plate, like the devices are food. I am hoping to end up with a photo which makes the viewer feel as if they are about to eat what is on the plate.
