Safety, Ethical and Environmental Considerations

Safety

When going out on photoshoots at night or in secluded areas where there aren’t that many people I make sure to bring someone like my mum or dad with me so I’m not completely alone and don’t get robbed or something along those lines; such as on the long exposure road shoot I did when it was dark.

Ethical

Some areas of positive ethical working practices that I have considered in my work are trying not to get sharp photos of strangers faces in my photos, such as on my first Hockney Joiner shoot at the bus station where I made sure my shutter speed wasn’t too fast. This was so that the people who were walking past close by looked slightly blurred.

Environmental

Most of my photoshoots have not really had a negative environmental impact even though my theme is Public Transport as I have walked to most of my shooting locations; Except for when I took the train to Leeds and when I did the Long Exposure Road shoot as I used a car to get to the Red Bridge. When printing, I tried my best to make sure the image sizes/measurements were right to prevent having to waste more materials to correct the mistakes.
