I used my phone to test out the concept of journeys by walking away from college and taking 10 separate photos of all the different ground/concrete textures and surfaces I walked on. I ended up cropping all of them into squares so only the surface could be seen-not including my feet.
I think this fits the Journey concept quite well because it shows that a change of location, even when I haven’t travelled a large distance, can make the surroundings change a lot.
This can link in a little bit with the frottage art I did before this as it has something to do with many different textures in different locations in a small area. In the future I may experiment with these two ideas by taking pictures of textures and overlaying a scan of frottage art on top of it to see how it enhances the image.
