I used a large sheet of plain newspaper and a pink pastel crayon to make a piece of frottage art. I went around college and found many different textures on the floor, walls, benches, and more. I placed the paper on top of the surface and rubbed the pastel crayon across it so the texture would show through.
I also used things like plug sockets, radiators and any textured words I could find. Cracks in the walls, brickwork, and wooden panels worked really well for this and I enjoyed finding different words and patterns to add to it so I could fill the whole sheet.
