Lior Zilberstein is an Israeli food photographer, recipe developer and self taught cook, who currently owns four restaurants in the US. Zilberstein’s photography includes stock and commercial work as well as fine art imagery. His personal photography explores environments with a thoughtful lens and an eye for unexpected moments occurring in everyday spaces.
Looking at the work produced by Lior Zilberstein in one of his personal projects ‘Suburbia’, the photographer has taken long exposure photos in what looks like the suburbs of a city at night- most likely using a tripod.

I was drawn to this form of Fine Art photography first because of how generic these photos are to me. The goal of Fine Art photography can sometimes be to have an effect on the viewer. To me, these photos seem to create a feeling of comfort and familiarity as I think many aspects of the scenes captured in these images are quite common with many different locations around the world; Such as the presence of roads, trees, cars, streetlights and other evidence of human life.

Something I really like about these photos is how there are a lot of hard shadows with the lights illuminating or outlining certain objects and making them the focus of the photos. This is shown with the silhouette of the swings, the house and the car as they are the things my eyes are most drawn to when looking at these pictures.
