Self-reflection inbound as a person and musician.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When I began at college in September, I had no self-confidence in my ability as a musician, and as a person, to do what had to be done. While the entrance exam felt hard at the start, I with full confidence now believe I could perform a song in front of someone (rather than it being recorded on an iPad) without fail; and that is but one of the improvements I\u2019ve made ever since beginning the course. This journey has affected how my taste in music has developed too, and my horizons have broadened after I began interacting with other people, sort of \u2018absorbing\u2019 their music tastes after the first live performance project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One aspect that I didn\u2019t touch on as much I would\u2019ve liked to was Live Peformance in front of an audience \u2013 I just didn\u2019t believe it my type of thing, but after a lot of encouragement I think I can do this in year 2 of the course. When opportunities arise, I want to offer myself up as a way of going past my comfort zone. I understand this will need me on drums more often and practicing, but I don\u2019t mind that as long as I get to perform. I (unfortunately) can\u2019t be perfect, because if I was, it\u2019d be very boring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The one thing I particularly enjoyed already when joining this course was digital music and creating soundtracks for video games. This was my final project and I see myself pursuing a career involving video games in the future, working in some kind of sound role for them. With a company would be nice (since it\u2019s actually stable), but freelance work is something I wouldn\u2019t spit on. I have learnt techniques that will stick with me through my career.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
