Week 9 – 14/04/2025

Mon- Fri Review work to date

Monday 14/04/25

This is a brief review of the work I completed before this date, from Week 1 to 8. Based on what I’ve done, I can say I am not too happy with myself.

While I have documented what I’ve been doing (with periodical breaks for mental health and other issues), I don’t feel as if this work standard is good enough. I keep making promises I cannot keep, like properly recording gameplay or even having my level tracks done. With us nearing the end of the project at around Week 13, I am worried for what I can achieve in this time, as alot of this work will now be practical (recording gameplay, editing music into video, working on more level tracks), and I don’t want to fall behind on it.

I want at least to start something for my sketches on the album cover, as i had planned for week 10 and also find my controller so I can record the gameplay and have it ready to work on the tracks themselves. If I do not have the proper time to make a fully rendered piece (album cover), I can save time and greyscale it, which could be a good route – I’m not quite sure yet. I will have to see what my work efforts are like this week, and if I am up to the challenge of fully rendering, or just going for the black and white approach, quite literally.

Below is the basic outline for what I want to do for my album cover. ‘Kyo’ is a fan character I have that shares similarities to Samus and therefore I can use for the Spotify release, and avoid copyright claims. Samus’ version can go on YouTube for the Metroid fans.

I have artblock currently, and I hope I can power through this.
