Monday – 31/03/25

This week is similar to the last one. I feel my illnesses getting worse, and so working at my top capabilities is not possible right now, which is rather disheartening, because I want to finish this project with a good amount of work and documentation under my belt. This Monday, I haven’t achieved anything of great value, except for my Landr license being fully paid for, granting me full access to the program. I wish to look at it properly next week and write bits about it that stand out to me.

Tuesday – 1/04/25

I’m dropping out of college.

April Fools— Today, I have changed the focus of what I planned in my proposal form as I’ve looked into the promotion aspects of my project, and I realise that, looking at my follower count on Bluesky, I must be doing something incorrectly. I will note a few things I can find online to help me better expand to a wider audience.

I’ve found this image while scrolling Google, and it is published by Localio Marketing Lab. This rule says how to get more traction on social media platforms, which shows how you should tailor your posts to seem more ‘human’ rather than an organisation or an advertising account.
I can see immediately that the promotion is no more than 10%, and there is a massive focus on giving information to the community. I can see how this would benefit both sides, being the consumer and advertiser – by being friendly and offering more than just a service or product, you offer advice and help to those who need it and in turn you gain a following and support. I will do my best to do this on my account, as I’ve grown out of posting on it, and see if I can get more than a couple of followers. Perhaps this way, I can gain a following for non-Metroid fans.

To test if being a little more personal with my message works, I’ve posted this to the account and will check periodically on this content. When done with writing my diary, I will also look around Bluesky for any Metroid accounts with followings already and interact to show that I am out there.

Friday – 4/04/25

While I have my capture card set up and my Nintendo Switch ready to record Metroid Dread gameplay, I cannot seem to find the controller I use at the moment. This makes this a temporary issue, as I need that to get into the game and do anything related to button inputs. This will have to be put off until a later date.
