Project 3 Final Evaluation

My strengths regarding Project 3 are that I have minor experience already in mixing my own digital pieces outside of college hours, but as I have come to realise, real instruments also need mixing, and to me, that is even harder because there are abnormalities and imperfections that need to be cut out so I can achieve the piece I want. Because of this, the project was a little more of a challenge than I had expected, but I still did as much as I could in the time I had.

A problem that I encountered during this project was micing up the drum kit I used. Having no prior experience in doing things involving microphones, I found setting up for recording to be a hassle, and quite stressful as there was multiple other students also attempting to mic up at the same time, causing delays since there was a clear skill issue.

I will definitely need mixing for the future, in both personal and professional settings, because without it, a song is never truly complete. This skill will definitely be required for my final project, where I intend to make a digital piece on Ableton, for the Command and Conquer soundtrack. This means that I need to hone this skill in my own time, and gain more experience in mixing and mastering.

Being able to mix, to me, is a core skill that every producer should know. It opens alot of gateways into the industry of production and you will be sought-after if you have said skills, paying well and allowing flexibility in which job you choose.
