One of the major issues I am going to experience is feedback during performances. To counteract this, I will attempt the technique of ringing out the room so I can find what in B25 causes feedback, with an audience and without (due to the way bass travels through people and treble is absorbed by them). After talking with Joe N about Live Sound and especially this technique, it really pays to go and sort out feedback issues before they arise, rather than figure out on the fly what to do. By pinpointing the resonant frequencies in the performance space, I can use Visual EQ to eliminate where the spikes in sound are, depending on if they’re low (-1k kilohertz), mid (-2k kilohertz), or high (+2k kilohertz). We do this by setting all microphones up without playing any instruments and then checking each area for feedback spots, then capping it off so there is less risk during the real run-through.
