Since part of this project is about theatre makeup, and we’ll be doing the makeup for Performing Arts’ theatre performance of The Crucible, I’m going to research the history of theatre makeup, the job of a makeup artist for theatre, the way that theatre makeup is done today, the factors that affect the longevity and way that makeup is seen on stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Makeup artists aren’t always used in theatre. Most of the time they’re only there to apply wigs, prosthetics, or face paints and the actors will do their own makeup. Depending on a theatre production’s budget and size, there will be different people to apply makeup and wigs or they could be doing both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Makeup artists design and apply makeup looks to performers for when they’re on stage. These looks can enhance the performers’ features or drastically change them to fit the character they’re portraying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
