Crucible Assessment
Neither of these looks are particularly great but I think I worked well for the time limit. I think Mary looked ok except for she looked more like a chav than a mix of alternative and chav. I didn’t follow Sophie’s face chart exactly because there wasn’t much time so I was more focused on making it good enough to go out and perform.

Overall, I think this went well. I think the special effects gave the effect I wanted. I think the edges were mostly blended. Originally I wasn’t planning on using foundation but I didn’t think the sculpt gel would look right over bare skin so I used foundation after setting the sculpt gel once it dried. I didn’t use much I went for a lighter coverage. I used a little bit of contour and blush because the face was looking a bit flat without it. I just used some brown eyeshadow and brown liner to define the eyes, as well as a clear mascara.
I struggled getting the hair pieces in. Originally I tried using bobby pins but they weren’t working so I then tried hair pins but they were too flimsy. I ended up using weft clips which went in ok but in person they were vey noticeable. However, in the photos you can’t see them as much. Another problem I had was there was some glitter that must’ve been stuck between the bristles in the brush I used for the foundation over the sculpt gel from work experience the night before that ended up transferring. I did clean it after the work experience but I’m going to look up how would be best to remove glitter from makeup brushes so it doesn’t happen again. I also struggled getting the bleached brow look. I think it would have looked better if I used orange colour corrector before concealer to neutralise the cool tones of my model’s natural brows
