Avant-Garde Final Look

Sin Assessment- Photos by Chloe Gorman

I started by doing my model’s skincare, using products for dry and very dry skin because his skin is very dry and those products will give extra hydration, helping with the dewy skin I’m going for. I used 2 layers of moisturiser and a sunscreen spray because it gives the skin a nice shine to it. I used the sunscreen all over the face, let it absorb, then used another layer just around the outer parts of his face because if the center is very shiny it looks very sweaty. I gave it a little bit of time to absorb then wiped off any excess skincare on the brows with a dry cotton pad. I then used gel to give the brows a messy, natural look. I moved down to the eyes, placing some eyeshadow primer to help the eyeshadow stick. I used eyeshadow primer instead of concealer because it dries down clear which works better for the natural skin look that I wanted. I packed on red eyeshadow with a dense eyeshadow brush all over the lid and slightly above the crease, and then a brown closer to the eyebrow to get a smoother transition, then did the same on the other eye. I then used a fluffy eyeshadow brush to blend the edges. the blending spread the eyeshadow a bit too far out which I expected to happen so I cleaned it up with micellar water on a cotton pad. I added another layer of red eyeshadow to make it more vibrant and a dark pink close to the lash line. I chose the dark pink because its cooler, meaning it will look more like a shadow and transition into the black liner better. I used a triangle powder puff and loose translucent powder over the eyes to set it for longevity. I told my model to look up and added the same red and brown eyeshadows I used for the eyelid below the lower lash line and lightly blended them.

For the base, I didn’t use primer like I normally would because the sunscreen was essentially acting as a primer. I used a little bit of green colour corrector where there was redness and a bit of orange under my model’s eyes. I made sure to only use small amounts and didn’t use it in every place where there was slight discolouration because I wanted a very fresh, natural look and if I added too much it would have taken away from that. I added contour in the hollows of his cheekbones and the temples of forehead to define his features and blended it out.
