While I was adamant against covering vocals at first, I have since come round and considered doing them just to push myself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feedback response:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I should consider what makes me afraid of doing vocals and question how I could overcome this fear, or whether or not it&#8217;s important to me that I do overcome it. I think the only way I would realistically overcome this fear would just be to go for it and stick with it, not delete it and show it to people. I know that it won&#8217;t be terrible, so I shouldn&#8217;t be ashamed of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The idea of a video accompanying the project would be quite nice for documentation and would definitely make me feel proud to be able to show someone that I did this through recording me doing it. Plus, if I do ever choose to publicise it on Youtube, it will be in a format that is appealing and that fits in with what other people are doing on YouTube in regards to the same kind of thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>General notes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m thinking about doing this as I&#8217;m wanting to develop my overall instrumental skills, recording skills, learn more about mixing and make something I&#8217;m proud of. In addition to this, depending on what progress I make by April, I can use my work as part of my portfolio for my application to Leeds Conservatoire. I will be needing studio time for my portfolio regardless, so working on a similar thing might be ideal. One risk that comes with this is being burnt-out, but everything combined will give me plenty of recording experience as I need to record at least two original songs on top of a cover for my final project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I think my time management will not be a problem as I have given myself a project that allows some wiggle room and I will not be stressing over deadlines every week as long as I keep on top of what needs to be recorded. In truth, if I find the time I may cover both songs that I mentioned as long as I am completely happy with the first song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OTHER IDEAS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Event management. I would be looking at doing all of the promotion work that I was working on in our first L3X project, as well as managing tickets, the setlist and running order, setting the stage up, finding people to take the role of a sound engineer and lighting technician. I would want to do this because it&#8217;s something I enjoyed and I think I would be dedicated to it as I was really interested in it last time and spent a lot of my free time making sure the art for it was good enough. In comparison to the year previous, I know by looking at account analytics that I brought in more attention across social media, most notably instagram, and I think more tickets were sold overall this year too. I would most likely be looking at doing a performance at the showcase too as most of my work will be really spaced out and I would need something to fill the space, even if this means I&#8217;m not playing challenging parts or I&#8217;m just going along with what another band is doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recording Engineer. This idea is mostly something I want to do prior to university because this is what I want to be focusing on if I&#8217;m accepted into a production course. The end goal is being a studio manager, so I need all of the experience I can get. The problem with this is the timing of who is recording when, relying on bands or individuals to show up on time and have a clear idea of what they want and them having a realistic timeline for when things should be recorded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Live performance was another option, but it would be my last choice out of all of them due to not knowing who I would be working with provided I could find anyone, since I don&#8217;t want to be doing a solo performance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What I stated in this video is that I wanted to cover at least one song within my capabilities on bass, guitar and drums.
