Art I’d like to take inspiration from.

Peter G. Buchan

This piece was made using chopsticks and enamel paint in the act of combining drip and line painting. This creates depth and contrast in the image as the painted background has a different texture to the enamel paint and would be felt as a thicker layer if touched.

I like this style and it would be appropriate if I was to take aspects of this and develop art relating to violent impact, such as storms or corruption in the pattern and grooves with a dark but contrasting colour scheme.

I’ve worked with this technique before using acrylic paint and wooden sticks as part of my GCSE art portfolio, imitating Agnes Cecile’s portrait art.

The themes and moodiness displayed in this art are relevant to the song’s theme if we lean towards that theme. It looks like it’s primarily made with watercolour paint, which is a medium I’m familiar and comfortable with.

The isolation of teeth gives me some ideas for how certain words in the lyrics can be displayed physically.

The below images are inspiration in themes, colour and composition in material and focus.

Existing bands of the same style and their art.

Initially I wanted to imitate the contrasting colours and repeating backgrounds as it reflected a pop-art style.

The most captivating part of this image was the highly saturated colours and dark, red contrast. I wanted to imitate that and eventually tried it with oil paints in the experimental stages of the final product.
