We started this project by working in two separate groups and writing every aspect of event production we could think of. Here’s what my group came up with:
I thought it would be a good idea to take note of the ideas the other group came up with, so I took a photo of that too as they had listed more things.
As a group, we put together all of our ideas for the showcase. We did this in the form of a mind map.
Some ideas I suggested for promotion were to use the email list of people who signed up to be notified of future events from last year’s October showcase on Eventbrite, as well as advertising the showcase on Bradford College’s official page and social media pages if possible. Additionally, we could do something similar to what last year’s students did and try reach out to music organisations or radio shows to talk about the showcase and promote it through their platforms.
Our main goal is to shift the focus from an academic perspective to a more professional perspective where individuals can showcase their talent and promote themselves by performing. We want to make the experience better for everyone, which is why we’re being ambitious and considering booking a larger venue.
