Was my research sufficient and relevant?
My logo research was really helpful for my own logo creation since it inspired me and gave me somewhere to start from, particularly with colour scheme and simplicity. My poster research also helped since this is where I found what should be on a gig poster, as well as how to compose it. I found the layout I used was appropriate since it had a centre art piece to draw in attention, feature colour and all the necessary information. My health and safety research page gave me insight as to what we needed to look our for and consider when setting up the stage.
What else could I have researched?
I could have looked into good event management examples, like any documentaries about event managers working at certain venues or with certain artists or bands. Experienced event managers will likely have indirectly taught me some things I could have taken note of in forms like documentaries or videos.
How well do I think I did as a guitarist and band member, as well as temporary receptionist?
My skills as a guitarist were displayed positively and I believe I did a good job and didn’t weigh down the band in any way. Combined with my stage presence and enthusiasm on stage, I overall think I did well. My experience working with this band was good, we all worked well together considering we all knew each other and sometimes worked together last year. We communicated well and got tasks done between us.
I sort of assigned myself and Cody as temporary receptionists for the night, so we both worked on getting people inside the building and counting how many people there were. We worked quickly, much quicker than last year since I had experience and already knew what I was doing.
We also provided snacks and cups for cold and warm drinks, which Nic trusted us with to do over our couple hour break between the end of the college day and the gig.
Did I enjoy the experience of performing?
I didn’t feel any adrenaline this time prior to the gig, so I felt good purely because of the audience’s response. I also didn’t feel nervous at all, I was ready to go out, play, dance a bit and go talk to people I knew once everything was done. I enjoyed working with this band because they were all reliable and put in the work for this to be a decent performance.
