My idea is to have a ‘KiDii Experience’ for the museum.
- When children visit the museum, they can experience AR.
- Instead of having the same experience as someone who is maybe 17, 18, or 19, they would have a specific experience that allows them to experience a partial piece of what the main AR experience would be.
- The KiDii experience would have Pokémon characters as tour guides.
- Characters will change at different checkpoints.
- The tour guides would not be limited to Pokémon but any character you choose.
- The children’s task throughout the day would be to find a certain number of Pokémon characters to enter a prize.
- Different characters at different checkpoints guiding you – Pikachu, Kakuna, Charmander etc..

Huge Life-size AR Animations
Life-size AR animations could transform a traditional museum exhibit into a dynamic, interactive scene. For example, museums with scientific exhibits, such as natural history or space museums, life-size AR animations could provide layers of information. For example, when looking at an exhibit about planets, an AR animation might show the solar system with life-size, rotating planets around the viewer. Or visitors could stand in a room where a life-size animated version of a historical event, such as the signing of the Declaration of Independence or a battle, unfolds before them in real time.
Guided AR Tours
- Guided tour where AR animations unfold as visitors walk through the museum, highlighting key points of interest and animating objects of historical or scientific significance.
- Tour guides being Disney Characters or Marvel Characters as such.. Darth Vader, Iron Man…
- The experience would be a vision of the future of the museum
Rebecca Lard: Feedback
- A very enthusiastic and polished presentation
- Good research on museums that use AR around the world.
- There are a lot of quotes from other sources; it’s good to reference these but to take it to the next level, perhaps think about how they apply specifically to the museum
- We loved the idea of the characters, e.g., Pokemon, as the tour guides around the museum and the general principle of creating bespoke tours for different audience groups.
- for children, it was great to bring in the idea of a trail or quest around the museum, which would keep their interest.
- The only limitations would be budget and also licensing big brands, so that’s something to consider. It’s great to think big, though!
quotes – talk about how it related back to your project more specifically.
smaller scale characters – speak to staff at musuem to find out what licencing they have and what they have access to.
