MOODBOARD<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I made two different moodboards in different styles. First one is graphic design and second is traditional art. I made two different moodboards because I intend to use graphic design and traditional techniques in this project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ARTIST RESEARCH<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STEFAN SAGMEISTER<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stefan Sagmeister is a graphic designer and a typhographer. His designs are showcased on the album covers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was born in Bregenz, Austria. After graduating from High-School, he enrolled himself in an engineering college. Since an early age he had a passion for designing. So, he changed his mind and enrolled himself for graphic designing course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He began his designing career at the age of 15. At the age of 19, he applied for the University of Applied Arts Vienna to study graphic designing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His work is very inspiring and his work matches with my chosen theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WORKSHOP<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make this drawing, we had to use our opposite hand to draw. After that, we had to close our eyes and use our hand we normally write with to draw on top of the previous drawing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I tried to draw a girl’s head and then colour some shapes on the drawing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The finished outcome really reminded me of a Russian artist’s – Wassily Kandinsky – artworks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIBRARY VISIT<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I visited college’s library. I looked trough other artists and portraits with lots of different kind of art-styles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am really into realistic art-style. I think it’s amazing how artists can draw so realistic. I added three portraits that Frans Hals, Rembrandt and Carel Fabritius painted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I noticed that they all have similar colour palette and colour tones. And, their backgrounds are the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because the colours are dark and grey, it makes me think that when they drew those people, they have to be serious and that they don’t have fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I found two portraits with different art-styles that were made by Lisa Naylor and Violeta Lopiz. I think the styles are very interesting, creative and fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the bunnies one, the heads are bigger then their bodies. And, I really like the colour palette. The colour that are used are – white, pink and yellowish-orange. The artist drew the bodies in that artwork and used a photo of realistic rabbits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the second image, It’s a portrait of two people. First think that I noticed was texture on the black hair. You can see some different kind of textures on both of the people. I really like the art-style on the second image. The other thing that I noticed is red cheeks while everything else is black and grey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

COLLAGE AND SCALE<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This drawing is inspired by Lisa Naylor. This artist is from my library visit. I used a picture of my cat and drew in my style. I don’t really like the outcome. I noticed that in Lisa Naylor’s work hands are bunny fur. I wanted to try it on my drawing, but something went wrong, so I just coloured arms and legs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The picture of my cat is dark, so I made the body in darker colour too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VISITING ACCU <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accu is an engineering company that we are working with. We visited them and they gave us a tour of their new working building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit was interesting. Their building has a lot of space and I found some places where I could put my last piece. I’m planning to make my last piece on a canvas, so I can choose only walls where I can put my last piece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SECONDARY RESEARCH<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I experimented by finding a portrait photo online and drawing one line that goes every direction to make a wiggly-line. I wanted to see how it would look, because I intend to use this technique for my future works. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

First image is just a purple line with nothing else added or changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the next two photos, I decreased opacity on the lines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And on the last photo, I erased lines that were blocking eyes and mouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
