Portraits – Workshop

FASHION – 1

We had to draw outfits that were in the fashion studio and try out different kind of materials to colour our outfits with.

I chose 3 outfits – one of them represents my chosen theme. I used metallic markers, gold leaves, oil pastels and coloured pencils.

I really enjoyed making these, I learned how to use new materials and how to draw from a different perspective.

FASHION – 2

Our aim was to make 4 different outfit designs using our own artwork from sketchbooks.

I went to the printer and scanned 2 of my drawings:

I printed out lots of paper with different sizes of those drawings. Then, I went and cut all of the pieces that I needed.

When I was done, i thought that I am going to leave it black and white. But, I wanted to add some colour.

So, I coloured and lined with golden metallic sharpie. In my opinion, the golden lines and colours represent FUTURE.

I really enjoyed making these, it was interesting and I could play with my creativity.

SCREEN PRINTING

I chose a drawing from my sketchbook that is an illustration of my friend’s cat. I really enjoyed this technique, it was my first time trying something like it. Although, I had to wait long for my screen to dry as I missed 1 lesson. But, I was really pleased with my final product.

Firstly, I had to draw a drawing that I wanted to screen print on s transparent plastic paper (I don’t remember the name of that paper). I used two different size markers.

After that, we took a screen, taped holes and taped our drawing. Then, we placed the screen in an exposure unit that emits ultraviolet light. When the exposure unit is on, the design blocks the UV light that hardens the emulsion around the image.

When we took our screen out of the exposure, we had to wash it out till our design comes out. To know when it’s done, you have to see if our design is transparent by putting it directly into light. After washing it we had to let it dry. Drying takes a long time.

And lastly, we put a piece of fabric under the screen, paint inside the screen and pulled the paint evenly with squeegee to make the paint appear on the fabric. I chose a blue colour and on the second fabric, I mixed metalic paint with blue paint. In my opinion, the metalic paint goes with this project because it represents future.

This one is regular blue paint:

ACCU LOGO DESIGN

I redesigned Accu’s logo.

I really like how it turned out, it’s simple and the colours are nice.

To make this design I used websites on the internet.

The font I used is – https://fontmeme.com/drum-workshop-font/

Colour palette generated from – https://colormagic.app/

On the font generator website I found a font I wanted to use, typed in ‘Accu’ and then redrew it in my paitning software.

For colouring, I chose coloures from the beggining – blue dianne and rob roy. I think that those colours suit really well for Accu and engineering.
