PATTERNS
I wanted to try to make a pattern. To represent it with my chosen theme I drew faces with different emotions.
I made it using Adobe Illustrator. To make it, I drew some faces. The faces did not turn out great because I was drawing it with a computer mouse instead of a tablet.
Then, I selected the faces I made and chose to make ‘patterns’.
There were some options how to organize the patterns and i chose ‘brick by column’ because the faces are not next to each other. In my opinion, it looks great.
This is how it would look if I chose a tile type that puts faces together:
To make it as an actual pattern, i chose ‘rectangle tool’ to fill canvas with this pattern I made.
And then, I could choose tile types and, as you may know, I chose ‘brick by column’.
I like how the pattern turned out. I love how it looks so cartoony. I’m planning to make more patterns in the future.
PATTERNS
I’m not really sure if this is called patterns. But, I drew different portraits of a girl with different face expressions in a cartoon-style.
I really like how the art-style turned out. I like how the bold outline looks.
For sketching I used charcoal pencil and drew lines with a black pen. This drawing is with sketch:

I really like how the drawing looks without the sketching. It looks more cartoony and the lines with black pen looks a lot better.
I drew the same drawing on a computer – I made one without colouring and second with colouring. I like the coloured one, but in my opinion best version is on paper.
ONE LINE DRAWING
I drew a drawing using one line. I saw this technique on Instagram and wanted to give it a try. I don’t like how it turned out. I think the eyes are too far from each other and the lips are too high.
This drawing gives me a depressing feeling. In my opinion, it’s because of how the lines are messy, scribbled and dark.
This technique reminded me of an artist – Sergej Stoppel.
GRAPHIC DESIGN 1
I made a graphic design of my uncle’s car. I like how the design turned out but not so much. I feel like the bubbles above the car weren’t needed or change the colours that are inside the bubbles. I like the colour palette.
I removed the bubbles and like this designs 10x better.
GRAPHIC DESIGN 2
I made a graphic design of my friend. In the original image she has a cigarette in her hands,so I pixelated it and added smoke like in cartoons. There’s not much done but I like how it turned out. I could of added something more but couldn’t think of anything else.
ILLUSTRATION
I drew two cat portraits – first cat is mine and the other is my friend’s. I used black pen and a marker to draw.
I really like how they turned out because I usually don’t draw animal as I don’t know how. But, I really wanted to try it and love the results. I tried my best to make it like an illustration and love how it turned out.
I wanted to colour these drawing with watercolour as well. But, not colour it full, only some parts. I wanted to find an artist that used watercolours on illustrations just like I did but couldn’t find anyone.
I like how it turned out, it looks interesting. I used bright colours to make it more fun. The second cat reminds me of the cat from Alice in Wonderland.
ANIMATION 1
I drew a pixel portrait drawing of a girl. The girl is an original character that I thought of. I tried my best on the shading as I don’t really know how to shade in pixels. But, I really love how the drawing and the animation turned out. I didn’t have any problems drawing the girl. I only had probelms making the animation. I couldn’t figure out how to select all the frames to not mess up the animation by putting the images one-by-one. But, in the end I figured it out.
I took screenshots where I showed step-by-step how I made that drawing.
I used a colour pallete for hair and skin.
First of all, I made a quick sketch of the girl.
Then, I made a lineart. I drew body parts on different layers.
The best part – colouring and shading. I am really proud on how the hair looks after shading and love the colours that I chose.
To make the drawing better, I coloured the lineart and added some details to make it cuter.
When I finished drawing the girl, I added a plain background and some sparkles.
To make the animation, I drew a movement, saved the drawing and drew another movement. I don’t have any animation program and wouldn’t know how to use them. Although, I love the results. I put the drawing together in Sony Vegas Pro 14.
I wanted to render it as a GIF, but Sony Vegas doesn’t have that option. So, I made a 20 second long video of a sparkling girl. And, the format is saved as a portrait, because my photo is 2000×2000 and I couldn’t find that format option.
ANIMATION 2
I really loved how the first animation turned out and wanted to try another one, but a little more difficult. I drew it pixelated too because it’s a lot more easier for me to animate and I really like pixel art.
I drew another girl and added small wings. I tried to animate the wings like they were moving and add the same sparkles from my previous animation.
It was really difficult for me to animate wings. I don’t like the outcome. I don’t really like how I animated wings – it looks like they are waving. And, I don’t like how the drawing itself turned out. In the future, if I animate wings again, i’m going to look online how to animate them correctly.
DIGITAL DRAWING
I made a drawing of my friend. I drew in my styler how I usually draw. I love how it turned out. I really like the brushes that I use. I tried to colour it dark like in the picture, but I think I could of coloured background in a dark colour to match the drawing.

I made 2 screenshots – before and after. I like to compare the sketch and final drawing.
PAINTING – FAILED
My plan was to paint a portrait of landscape. I had a reference photo from a video game ‘Minecraft’ :
I accidentally mixed blue and yellow thinking it would turn pink. Don’t know why I thought it would work, but it didn’t. I was annoyed and didn’t want to continue this piece.
DIGITAL DRAWING
I drew my friend’s friend, I really like how it turned out. I made a speedpaint video but I couldn’t add it on digital space, it showed me an error.
Colouring the hair was the hardest for me. At first I couldn’t draw hair like I wanted but at the end it turned out great. I tried to add small detail on the jacket.
