I made a graphic design that is inspired by an artist that I researched – Chip Kidd.
Chip Kidd designs book covers and I really like how they look.
This is the design that I worked on:
I changed the colour palette, text and font for the text but tried to find that looks similar to the font that he used. I recreated the same stars and eyes because in my opinion they go with my chosen theme “FANTASY”.
I noticed that the eyes have three different styles but same shading. I tried to make them as different as possible.
For overlay I used real stars as I sometimes use it as my “signature look”. I think it looks great.
In my opinion I succeeded with this drawing. I made what I planned and am pleased.
I like the style that Chip Kidd used for that artwork. It’s simple but at the same time looks amazing and inspiring. It wasn’t hard to recreate.
