Journey – Workshop work

  • To make this we had to listen to 3 different kind of songs and draw how we feel and what we see when we listen to those songs. Unfortunately, I don’t remember what the songs were called.
  • It was fun making it and I think it turned out fine.
  • I think that I may misunderstood and did the task wrong. I drew things that I thought the music would be, not my feelings.

  • We had to mix ink with water and use our hands to draw. We wore gloves while painting.
  • I splashed the ink, drew random lines, used my whole hand to make this art. I tried to make it as a trail to somewhere to represent adventure.
  • I like how it turned out. I think the colours turned great. It looks messy and I love that.

  • I really enjoyed making this art piece. We had to go through the Lister building and find different kind of patterns and colour it on the paper using charcoal. It was interesting and fun while trying to find something.
  • I like how it turned out. It looks very interesting and represents my chosen theme.
  • I included a leaf, windows that had patterns, floor walls, chairs.
  • For this, we had to make a sketch where we represent our chosen theme. At first, I chose ‘roadtrip’, but I changed it to ‘adventures’ because I thought of using hot air balloon and it doesn’t go with my previous theme.
  • I don’t really like how the drawing turned out, I could add more details, like more destinations (a shop, animals and so on).
  • This is one of my most favourite drawing I ever made. We had to draw inspired by Bill Viola’s Nantes Triptych. It’s a three panel video footage of birth, metaphorical journey of between the birth and death.
  • I made two drawings. First one is a tree, where its leaves are falling, which represents journey. It’s seasons are summer, autumn and winter.
  • The second drawing is owl’s life journey. Starts with an egg, then a little baby owl and at the end a grown owl.
  • We had to represent journey using our specialist practise by drawing it.
  • My specialist practise is graphic design, so I drew a computer with graphic tablet where is shown on a screen a drawing programme with shapes that represent cars going on a roadtrip.
  • I like how the drawing turned out. I like how the lineart looks.
  • I made an embroidery using a hot air balloon sketch on a fabric.
  • I used chain stitch on a basket. I used exactly that technique on a basket because it looks like it’s made out of twigs. To fill in the balloon I used satin stitch.
  • I didn’t have time to finish this piece, but I still like how it turned out.
  • To make this art a little more interesting, I finished it digitally by drawing a line that goes around the balloon. I think it’s called mixed media.
  • We had to make a collage out of newspaper, magazines or something else. Then scan it and put it in Adobe Photoshop, choose a piece of work we wanted to layer with the collage and play with filters and opacity.
  • I used a photo that I took in Gordale Beck to layer up with my collage.
  • I really liked how it turned out and it was interesting to make.
  • I made 4 different pieces.
  • We did the same thing as with the pieces above. Had to layer up a photo or a different piece with the collage.
  • Then, we had to print them, but the two pieces had to be separated.
  • We had to go to darkroom to make these prints.
  • I did a lot of them and used different techniques, I chose to put here the ones that I really like.
  • I really enjoyed making these prints in darkroom, it was interesting.
