ARTIST RESEARCH
ALEX TROCHUT
Alex Trochut is a graphic designer from Spain, Barcelona. After he established his own design studio in Barcelona, he moved to New York. His motto is –
Easy is boring. If you aren’t having fun pushing yourself, you aren’t doing it right.
He focuses on the potential of language as a visual medium. He pushes language to its limits so that seeing and reading become the same action and text and image become one unified expression.
Alex loves the abstract of letters. Every brand has its own unique character, like every person. He believes that tyography is the tool best suited to crafting designs which coax out a brand’s true ethos. He looks at letter design as clothing for text.
Alex has created designs, illustrations and typography by mixing styles, genres and drawings equally from pop culture, street culture, fashion and music. He had clients, like – Nike, Adidas, The Rolling Stones, Katy Perry, BBC, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, The Guardian, The New York Times, Time Magazine and many others.
I chose him for artist research because his graphic designing style would be great for my chosen theme. I am inspired by a lot of his works.

LUCAS MENETRIER
Lucas isn’t very famous. He’s a graphic designer that makes designs inspired strongly by Japanese culture from all eras. He was interested in Japanese culture since a very young age and after studying design and illustration for 5 years he makes designs inspired by it for us.
I chose him for artist research because I intend to use his style for my last piece. I really like his style because it’s cute and he uses a lot of bright colours.
