Dreams – Workshop

I’ll show all workshop techniques that I learned.

SCRIBBLE TECHNIQUE

I really like this technique because it looks messy and I am into that style. This technique goes with the project ‘DREAMS’ as it could be like a memory of a dream that I had.

I used a regular black pen for this technique.

SMUDGING TECHNIQUE

In my opinion this technique is really nice for this project’s theme because it gives off a smudge and blurry effect which dreams usually are when you wake up.

I liked working with this technique but I don’t really like how one of my drawings turned out – the one with a circle. In the circle were meant to be flowers but you can’t really tell that those are flowers because I smudged too much.

I used charcoal.

CROSS HATCHING TECHNIQUE

I enjoyed this technique but don’t like how my drawings turned out. I should do more cross hatching on places where are shadows.

BLOTTED LINE DRAWING

I love how my drawings turned out. My favourite one is the mushroom house. I really liked this technique and enjpyed it very much. I like how the lines turned out.

I used indian ink for lines and paint mixed it with water.

USING RECYCLED MATERIALS

On our session there was a guest – James Owen Thomas and he showed us how to make art out of recycled materials. I really enjoyed that technique and liked how my piece turned out. I would love to try this technique again.

I used random fabric as a tail and thread to recreate two squirrels and a sun.

PRINTMAKING

To make this piece I had to:

  • Make a big collage
  • Put thin layer of paint on a table
  • Stick tape on the collage and white paper
  • Put it on the paint with a collage facing your way
  • Draw lines like on the collage with a pencil

I enjoyed making this piece although it turned out messy. I love how the gun and the man turned out.

PRINTMAKING

I don’t really like how it turned out. It’s confusing to see what I tried to make and the text is too dark. But, I enjoyed making this. It was hard to make small details but they didn’t turn out that bad.

To make this I used cardboard to make stars, moon, mushroom hats and fairy wings. I put fabric on fairy wings to make a texture. I used buttons as windows for the mushroom house and used thread for the houses and a path.

PRINTMAKING/INKING

I didn’t like this technique, it was messy and didn’t turn right for me. It’s hard to understand what I was intending to draw.

I only like one drawing that I made with balloons, I like how I made them in two separate collumns.
