During this project i used a wider set of materials than i have previously such as paint, photoshop and colour markers. I also did alot more digital work which helped alot because i was able to annotate my work with ease and without showing my bad handwriting.
Another material that helped was paint, prior to this project i had almost no experience in painting as i simply did not like it. However after giving it a try on the background of the native american tribe research page, i ended up using it more on the backgrounds for my work. I lastly used paint on the Adventure time drawing i did within the sky, grass and tree which felt alot easier to approach thanks to the pervious work.
The artist i researched was T.C. Cannon, the main reason i did was because his work stood out and had a simplistic look ive rarley seen, his work also inspired me to use paint in my work. I also did research on Native american tribes which was interesting, there was no pure reason behined this other than to understand more about them.
My main problem was not knowing what to do when it come to the culture. I was first jumping through ideas on what to do like theyre clothing, homes, etc. After though, i decided to stick with drawing Native american people as i felt thats my specialty and interest. So throughout the project i more or less stuck with that.
The things slowing me down were mainly, coming up with ideas on how to approach certain things like for example my GIF.
My GIF was my final piece and it relates to my culture because it includes a native american man leaving a tent.My original GIF idea was completely different until i decided to relate it to my theme instead, which is how i got the tent idea.
I think the most effective parts of my project have to be the GIF and my drawing pages.I have definetly improved massively in technique and idea development, im able to use different media within the same drawing.I have also learnt how to do more stuff digitally such as use digital space, photoshop and other drawing apps. However if there is 1 thing i need to improve most its the consistency of my work and also, understanding the work given to me more consistently aswell.
