I have been asked To play a few songs on bass and guitar at the showcase so i could use a few of these songs to show the basses looks and play-ability. A student called Clarke has asked me to play bass on two songs which are called, Voodoo child by S.R.V and you really got me by Van Halen on bass. I have also been asked by a student called Lainnie To play Try by pink on electric guitar, i will make sure to include some performance practice Videos and evaluations on my digital space page.
Here are the two songs that I have to learn and play with Clarke on bass:
This song is the Stevie ray vaughn take of Jimi hendrixes voodoo child, Both of these songs are in a half step down tuning which I will need to put my bass in to play them, This song will be good to demonstrate my bass because I could add little licks and runs to this song to change it up a bit and put my own spin on it.
I am also playing you really got me by Van Halen on bass. I could even start the song with the baseline alone just so that the audience can hear what just the bass sounds like, this is a good choice of songs to play to a live audience because it’s catchy and most people know the song.
