Introduction

Hi, my name is Ethan. I started playing guitar around six years ago now! I currently mainly play bass because I play bass in a band called The Flow, we are a covers band from West Yorkshire that originated around 5 years ago now. here is our Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/rock2theflow. I have also been in other bands such as acoustic duos, and even a metal band. I started playing bass guitar in Lockdown because I was bored and I decided to buy one, fortunately this has benefitted me massively because, I then got the chance to join The Flow and even fill in for bands playing bass. Over the past three years of playing bass, I think my progression has scaled massively. In the next few weeks I hope to sit my grade five bass exam and come out with a distinction. I also have grade 5 guitar with a merit. By the time I finish college I hope I have grade 8 for both instruments and grade 5 theory. This should make getting into a music university a breeze. I hope I end up with a job in the music industry and that I get into a music uni or even some sort of apprenticeship. I also achieved a level 2 merit for my GCSE B-tech music.

In project five, I hope to combine most of the skills that I have learnt in all of the previous projects such as, health and safety, in depth researching skills, technical exercises, live performance, rehearsal skills, problem solving, live sound and even recording skills to Restore a 1996 Fender Precision bass by deep cleaning, re finishing the body and neck, customizing it to my own liking, fitting new parts and electronics, setting the bass up, treating the frets and fret board and showing it off at the end of year showcase by playing some songs and showing off the play ability and aesthetic looks of it.

When executing this project I will make sure to keep to a time schedule and stay organised by laying out my pages clearly, including a weekly progress evaluation and a final showcase performance.

By the end of the project I willl have a completed/restored 1996 fender precision bass that I will play a few songs at the showcase with, I might even end up using this bass for a long period of my life because I will have put around 10 weeks of hard work and dedication to the restoration of it.
