Creating a single
The pros of me creating a single would be that I would Get better at production and learning how to record, I would also get to create some original music that would be on streaming platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify. I do think I would really enjoy this project and it’d defiantly benefit me and make me further develop as a musician however, it’d be a very challenging project as I would have to find a singer to collaborate with, find a drummer, create a song that sounds good as well as recording it, mixing/mastering it and distributing it online.
Guitar amp Restoration
I was also thinking about restoring a guitar amplifier, I would do this by fixing the internals, cleaning it, re-Tolexing it, fitting a new grill and other bits, I have chosen not to opt for this idea because I don’t think it would be that challenging as my last project at college and it also seems a bit boring.
Jazz performance
My college tutor also suggested that I do a jazz performance with a drummer but I’m not that interested in jazz and especially for my final project, I would want to do something that would benefit me and something that I would enjoy.
Forming an Acoustic duo
overall from all of these choices I think forming an acoustic duo would be the best idea for my final project because its something that will get me more paid gigs alongside the band that I play in and its also something that I will enjoy doing, the only problem that I could see with this is that it could be very challenging to find a singer that is reliable and committed just as much as I am to this project and get a guaranteed 2X45 min paid gig at the end of it and create enough material to do the gig.
