History of Electronic Music

Electronic music was first ever produced in the 1960s on the 1969 Beatles abby road album, this was classed as electronic music because they used a ‘Moog’ synthesiser. The first full electronic music album was produced by Kraftwerk This was called ‘Autobahn From 1974. his album inspired genres such as Hip-hop and even disco!

70s Electronic music

70s Electronic music purely became popular because a new synthesiser called the ‘mini Moog’ just came out I think this caused more bands to be experimental, therefore creating the disco genre.Most of the music created under the disco genre is absolutely timeless! Some popular tracks are ‘good times by chic, ‘Gimme Gimme’ by ABBA and ‘Disco inferno’ by the Trammps.

80s Electronic music

The 80s is known for the decade of the huge rise of electronic dance music, This is mainly because technology development was on the rise. During the early 80s disco fell out of fashion and got replaced by Dance-pop. Also, other genres like hip-hop were exploding near the end of the 80s. some of the best electronic music tracks that came out of the 80s were, ‘don’t you want me’ by the human league, ‘Take on me’ by A-ha and you ‘spin me round’ by dead or alive’.

90s Electronic music

Some people claim that the 90s were the golden era of electronic music because synths were being incorporated in all genres which created some interesting tracks.The biggest form of EDM in the 90s was ‘techno’ Techno also brought on something called rave culture. he best techno tracks of the 90s were ‘Kernkraft 400’ by zombie nation, ‘Around the world’ by daft punk and ‘sandstorm’ by Darude.
