Components

The photo above is how the body and neck should look when they’ve been sanded down properly, at this point they will be fine sanded and ready to spray.

I have grouped all of thees components together because they all fit together, for the pickup I am keeping the original because it is now 27 years old and its still in perfect working order, I am also gonna order an American standard wiring loom so that it sounds nice and is wired correctly with matched CTS potentiometers. I will then order a mint green fender p bass pick guard and even a set of screws that are classified as fender parts so that is a true restoration to replace the old rusted ones.

For my chrome hardware I am still gonna only order fender parts for a true restoration, The tuners are fender 70s style tuning machines that were made from the same machine that made all of the tuners in the 70s. For the backplate I am just getting a standard 60s fender backplate because I have no serial number to put on it. and as for all the other little components like the fender strap buttons and the volume and tone knobs I will make sure that they come in time for the showcase and that they are all fender branded for an authentic restoration.

I will also order a custom made 60s fender precision bass waterslide decal because this suits the colour and the look of the bass best. I am going to order my nut from graph tech because they are made of graphite and allow the string to slide through it easily whilst tuning and still keeps a good grip of the string when its in tune. Finally I am getting a fender hi mass bridge instead of a standard 60s bridge because they weigh more and they resonate more when they are sat on the body than a standard 60s fender bridge.
