dreams project

for this photo i took to photos, one of me normally and edited it to have horns and a shine in one eye, then i took the same photo with a book in front of my face then overlaid the two and rubbed out part of the book with a textured eraser to show the face as thought its on the book. I did this to resemble a different side of yourself, which is a more intimidating character which, this is the side which keeps trying to ring you down and lower your self esteem, your imposter syndrome.
Here i took a few photos of my eye open and edited them to different colours and added shimmers to each one. then i took a photo of me with my eyes closed and added a scratchy, damaged texture to make it look more evil, i also added a broken glass overlay i found and then overlaid the photos of my open eyes onto the glass and put the overlay mode on and put them to about 50% opacity to make them look like reflections and finally i added a light glare to the whole photo. this photo resembles the people who don’t want you to do well and how you can get over them. the glass represents breaking the cycle, the eyes are the people who try bring you down, the main photo’s eyes being closed is to show relaxation and calmness to show that you aren’t scared and the final light glare on top of the whole thing show the good side of things and you dreams coming into view.
i drew a picture of Jason voorhees in a style call “chibi manga” to represent peoples imposter syndrome, i then brunt away the edges and parts of the picture then painted over it with coffee and water, i did this to make it look old and weak to show you can get over it and be better then whatever your problems are.
