Because of Screen Yorkshire employment within the tv and film industry within Yorkshire sky rocketed 82% between 2015 and 2018 and the number of film and tv business operating in the region grew by 27%.
Screen Yorkshire also have offered many opportunities to work with Performing arts students within our college, they give us workshops that we can interact with to grow our knowledge of the performance industry to help us be ready and prepared for when we go off into the world of acting! They help grow our knowledge and skills within the industry as they are trained professionals and have worked with some of the most famous actors. When screen Yorkshire came to visit us, They let us read through their scripts and have a go at acting for the camera! This helped me build up my confidence on the screen and I had a lot of fun working with the small script we had been given! The next workshop is said to be about auditioning for roles, which for us is a big step as not many of us have much knowledge on what to say or do to help be prepared for an audition. I believe screen Yorkshire will help me come out of my comfort zone a lot more and will help me reach my full potential within the film and tv industry and I am very grateful to have this opportunity to work with proper industry professionals!
