Social Issues
There are many social issues within our generation. There’s things such as poverty, climate change an violence. As days go on, these issues don’t get any better and us as a society don’t do anything to help these situations. For example, over the years, Violence a lot worse and the crime rate in Bradford alone is 184%. And the majority of these crimes are Violent crimes. Physical violence is not the only issue within our society though. Another example is Mental abuse, this mostly occurs Domestically. It is seen mostly within family and relationships, this is when family members and partners make you feel confused, guilty and ashamed for things you cannot control. They put you in your lowest mindset, which commonly leads to things such as depression and anxiety. Another example is sexual violence, This is more commonly used against women. More than 790,000 women have experienced sexual violence just within 2023, and that is in the UK alone. There are still women out there who don’t speak up about their experiences like this, meaning there’s many more too. It isn’t just women who experience this. ,many men have experienced things like this too. Over 200,000 men have spoke up about their experiences with sexual violence this year. A lot of men don’t dare to speak out about it as most men aren’t believed and get told they are just being ‘gay’. This issue isn’t being solved anytime soon either, this is due to Judges being told not to sentences the assaulters due to overcrowding.
Political issues
An example of a political issue right now is global warming. There are many effects of climate change such as air pollution and increased hunger. These are both Long-term and short-term impacts. Air pollution is caused by things such as vehicle emissions, natural gasses and chemical production. Vehicle emissions consist of things such as Co, NOx and PM. All of these chemicals are bad for the planet. These are things that cause Wildfires. Things like deforestation. Due to things like this, People are being evacuated and made homeless, leading to mass homelessness and we aren’t producing enough oxygen. Meaning, The chemicals within the air are toxic. This causes the death of crops and in certain areas this is peoples only food source. So many people go hungry which leads to world hunger. Us as a society are not doing much to help this. There are sill millions of cars on the roads in the United Kingdom. A way for us to decrease air pollution issues would be to think of different ways to travel. Like riding a bike, or cycling!
