Audition prep

When I found out I was going to be doing Addams family for my audition. My group decided to give us our characters based on who we were most like to make it easier for us all. I ended up being Wednesday Addams as her character was closest to me. Once we chose the characters we went over the script to see if it worked for us all and that we agreed with our roles. Once we made sure we were all okay, we decided to start using characterization and getting it up on its feet. When i was home, I’d get my mum to help me run lines and help me remember my lines. I watched clips of different people playing Wednesday Addams to make sure my characterization was on point and not too nice or not too overly dramatic with things. I rehearsed my lines at any chance I got, This meant saying them out loud when cleaning or when I was in the shower. After our holidays we regrouped to go over the script again and to make sure we were all completely off script and confident with our lines. We continued to rehearse as a group to make sure everything would go smoothly. When it was time for our audition, we went in and everything went to plan, I told my tutors I wasn’t comfortable singing on my own but I would be okay in an ensemble. A week later we got the list of the cast with our characters and our production rolls, My character was Faye the mean foster mum and the evil witch, she didn’t sing at all which meant she wasn’t in any of the dances which was quite disappointing however I am grateful as I got to work on a different area in performance and not just dancing which has now helped me improve on my confidence skills and acting skills so much!
